Tata Motors, a stalwart in the Indian automotive industry, has introduced the iCNG AMT variants of its cars Tiago and Tigor. This move marks a significant milestone as it heralds the arrival of the nation’s first CNG cars coupled with an AMT variant. The company boasts of commendable mileage figures, promising substantial mileage per liter. Notably, bookings for these cars commenced last month with a token amount of Rs. 21,000, and now the cars are officially launched, offering customers the convenience of an AMT version even in the CNG variant, replacing the previous manual transmission.
The Price Points of Tata Tiago iCNG AMT
The Tiago iCNG AMT starts at an attractive price point of Rs. 7.89 lakhs, with the top variant extending up to Rs. 8.79 lakhs (ex-showroom). Similarly, the Tigor iCNG AMT begins at Rs. 8.84 lakhs, with the top variant priced at Rs. 9.54 lakhs.
Amit Kamat, the Chief Commercial Officer of Tata Motors, emphasized that the company leads the market with its twin-cylinder technology, ensuring no compromise on boot space. Over the last 24 months, the company has successfully sold 1.3 lakh CNG vehicles.

Tata Motors asserts that these cars are the first in India to offer automatic transmission akin to petrol engines, ensuring seamless gear shifting movements and superior shift quality. Moreover, both cars feature iCNG technology, a proprietary innovation of Tata Motors, enhancing boot space.
Furthermore, the transition from petrol to CNG is smooth, devoid of any jerks, ensuring a hassle-free experience for users. Safety remains a top priority for the company, reflected in the incorporation of various safety features.
