Shri Biswajit Daimary serves as a representative of Assam in the Rajya Sabha, aligning with the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Bodoland People’s Front (BPF). His political journey began with his election as a member of the Assam Legislative Assembly, where he served from 2001 to 2006. Subsequently, he transitioned to the national level, serving as a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha from 2008 to 2014. During his tenure, he held membership with the Bodoland People’s Front before joining the Bharatiya Janata Party in 2021. Notably, he departed from the BPF in November 2020, ahead of the Bodoland Territorial Council elections, and resigned from the Rajya Sabha on November 21, 2020. However, his political journey continued as he secured re-election on February 23, 2021.

Born on February 4, 1971, to Surendra Daimary and Fedab Daimary in Suagpur, Baksa district, Assam, Shri Biswajit Daimary hails from a humble background. He pursued his higher secondary education at Kokrajhar College, Kokrajhar, Assam, and furthered his academic pursuits with post-graduation from Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai.
