Tata Motors’ micro-market strategy has proven successful, establishing the company as a leader in the EV segment in India. With the aim of strengthening its EV market further, the company plans to launch 10 EVs in the passenger and commercial segments over the next five years. Speaking of Tata’s 2024 product schemes, the company has already introduced five EVs, with the new Tata Carve EV expected to follow soon. This plan includes the introduction of Tata Harrier and Safari EVs, anticipated to arrive during the festive season of 2024 and the beginning of 2025, respectively.
Tata Safari EV: Redefining the Electric SUV Experience
The Tata Safari EV, currently in its initial testing stage, has recently been spotted with heavy camouflage. Following the launch of the Punch EV and Harrier EV, this will be the brand’s third SUV based on the new Acti.ev platform. The design of this 3-row electric SUV will closely resemble that of the ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) Safari. However, some EV-specific cosmetic changes will be made, including a closed grille, distinct alloy wheel designs, and EV badges.
Tata Safari EV Interior: Combining Comfort and Technology
The interior of the Safari EV will bear a resemblance to its regular counterpart. The electric SUV will feature a 4-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo and a similar dashboard design.
Tata Safari EV Powertrain: A Blend of Performance and Efficiency
The Tata Safari EV is expected to offer a range of approximately 500 kilometers per charge. However, details about its powertrain are still unknown. With an estimated starting ex-showroom price of ₹32 lakhs, this electric SUV will compete with cars like the BYD Auto 3, MG ZS EV, and upcoming models such as the Maruti Suzuki eVX and Hyundai Creta EV.
