Brixton Motorcycles, an Austrian-based motorcycle company, has announced its entry into the Indian market. The company has partnered with KAW Veloce Motors for sales and dealership network in the country. The aim of this venture is to launch a special range of motorcycles for Indian customers and establish a manufacturing plant in India.
Company’s Objective
Brixton’s entry into India is inspired by the strategy to familiarize Indian riders with its European image, which has been in the making for almost two years in collaboration with KAW Veloce Motors. The Austrian brand is owned by the KSR Group, which also owns several mobility brands such as Motron motorcycles and Malaguti motorcycles.
Brixton Motorcycles in India
According to a press release, Brixton stated that it will initially launch four models in India, although the company has not yet confirmed which models will be brought to the country. These models are being developed at Brixton’s Austrian design center, and a new advanced facility with ownership by KAW Veloce is being constructed in Kolhapur, Maharashtra.
Establishment of R&D Center
Taking this partnership a step further, Brixton and KAW Veloce are preparing to establish a research and development center in India. The aim of this initiative is to develop models specifically for the Indian market, thereby aiding Brixton to become a strategic export center for Southeast Asian and African markets.
Expansion of Dealership Network
Apart from manufacturing, Brixton Motorcycles is also preparing to establish a large dealership network in major Indian cities. This plan includes launching 15 dealerships by the end of 2024 and expanding to 50 centers by next year, ensuring accessibility for customers across the country.
First Bike to Be Adventure Tourer
Brixton’s first offering for the Indian market will be an adventure tourer, which will be introduced in the global market by the end of this year. Following this, it will be launched in India around the festive season. Brixton will offer a wide range of motorcycles ranging from 125cc to 1,200cc capacity.
KAW Veloce’s Presence in India
Currently, KAW Veloce operates in South Maharashtra and Northern Karnataka regions supplying sales, service, and parts for brands like Benelli, Keeway, Moto Morini, and Zontes.
