Along with this, Nepal’s Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, Bhutan’s Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay and Mauritius’s Prime Minister Pravind Jagannath have also been invited to the ceremony.

Narendra Modi had invited the leaders of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) in his first swearing-in ceremony as Prime Minister i.e. in 2014. The member countries of SAARC are India, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
When Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister for the second consecutive time in 2019, the leaders of the countries of BIMSTEC i.e. Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation were invited to his swearing-in ceremony. BIMSTEC members include many countries including Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal and Sri Lanka.
