Maharashtra Election: After the Lok Sabha election results, Maharashtra has now entered the election mode. Elections are to be held here after three-four months and politics has started heating up already. Actually, the round of allegations and counter-allegations has started regarding the NDA’s defeat in the state. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde blamed the 400 slogan for the defeat, while RSS mouthpiece Organiser held Ajit Pawar responsible for the defeat on the alliance with NCP.
However, it is not that only NDA is facing a rift. Similar conflicts are also being seen among the allies of the India Alliance. On one hand, Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena-UBT is not able to reach an agreement with Congress. Uddhav has also decided to contest the Maharashtra assembly elections alone. The number of assembly seats in Maharashtra is 288 and 145 seats are required for a majority.
RSS targets NCP
Actually, Ajit Pawar’s NCP, which won only one seat in Maharashtra, is on target after the Lok Sabha elections. An article published in RSS mouthpiece Organiser has fuelled the turmoil in NDA even more. Organiser wrote, “The political experiment done in Maharashtra was not needed. Ajit Pawar’s faction of NCP joined hands with BJP, while BJP and divided Shiv Sena had sufficient majority.”
It further wrote, “The kind of infighting going on between the cousins in NCP would have faded Sharad Pawar’s image in two-three years. In such a situation, why was the unwise step of taking Ajit Pawar taken? BJP has reduced its brand value in one go.”
This article published in Organiser was bound to create a stir. NCP also did not delay in giving a sharp reaction. NCP leader Suraj Chauhan said that whatever RSS has written is an attempt to damage the brand of our party and if someone does this, we will also have to come forward.
Shinde blamed BJP for the defeat
This tussle in NDA is a warning bell for it before the assembly elections. Earlier also, at the time of formation of the new government, NCP had refused to take ministerial posts and this had brought a bad name to NDA from Mumbai to Delhi. Now the organizer clearly blaming NCP for the defeat is an indication that all is not well in Maharashtra politics.
At the same time, CM Eknath Shinde had said that the slogan of 400 was a big reason for the defeat in Maharashtra. He said that the slogan of 400 plus was given for the Lok Sabha elections. Due to this, a fear was created in the minds of the people. The opposition also created a false narrative about it. With this slogan, the opposition had created such an environment that if NDA gets more than 400 seats, the constitution will be changed.
Rift started appearing in Congress and Shiv Sena-UBT as well
What does Uddhav Thackeray want? This discussion is hot in the political corridors from Mumbai to Delhi. Actually, the political scenario of the state which has changed since the election results has raised many questions. Congress has emerged as the largest party in the state and it is expected that this will have an impact on Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena. Now the news has spread that Uddhav is planning to contest the assembly elections alone.
Is there going to be some new game in Maharashtra politics? Has Uddhav Thackeray had a rift with Congress? Is Uddhav Thackeray preparing to fight the assembly elections separately? This question is being discussed rapidly in Maharashtra politics.
According to the information received by ABP News, Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena UBT has started preparing to fight the Maharashtra assembly elections on its own. A meeting of party leaders was held in Mumbai on Wednesday in which party chief Uddhav Thackeray also participated. It is reported that in the meeting, Uddhav told the party leaders to get ready for the assembly elections.
Why does Uddhav Thackeray want to contest the elections alone?
Now the question is, is Uddhav not getting along with Congress? There are three reasons behind this question which are being discussed in the political corridors from Mumbai to Delhi. The first reason is that Congress has become the biggest party in Maharashtra. The second reason is the difference of opinion with Congress on the Sangli Lok Sabha seat and the third reason is the conflict over the candidates in the Legislative Council.
During the Lok Sabha elections, there was a conflict between Congress and Shiv Sena over the Sangli seat. Congress was claiming this seat but Shiv Sena got it. Congress’s contender Vishal Patil contested the election as an independent and won it too. Here Uddhav’s candidate came third. It was said that the coalition dharma was not followed here.
Sangli MP Vishal Patil has supported Congress. If we look at the Lok Sabha election results, Congress has become the biggest party in Maharashtra. India alliance has won 30 seats in Maharashtra. Congress has won 13 seats by contesting 17 seats, Shiv Sena UBT has won 9 seats by contesting 21 seats and NCP-Sharad has won 8 seats by contesting 10 seats.
According to this, Congress can claim more seats in the assembly elections. If this happens, then new problems will arise for Uddhav. Uddhav has probably understood this equation and that is why the news of fighting alone is floating in the political corridors.
At the same time, elections are to be held for 4 MLC seats in Maharashtra on June 26. The state leadership of Congress is worried about the seats and candidates, because Uddhav is taking decisions on his own. It is even being said that Uddhav Thackeray is not even picking up the phone of Congress state president Nana Patole.
