Upcoming Honda Cars: Honda Cars India has reinvented itself in the Indian market with the Elevate mid-size SUV. With an aim to further increase its sales, the company plans to introduce four new SUVs by 2030. The plan includes a new sub-compact SUV (codenamed: 3US), a new generation Amaze compact sedan and the Elevate EV. Let’s know about these upcoming Honda cars.
New Generation Honda Amaze
The new Amaze will be built on the same platform as the Elevate mid-size SUV, although it will be slightly updated to accommodate the shorter wheelbase. This compact sedan will come with a much improved design and new features while retaining the existing engine setup. The new Amaze will share most of its design elements with the global-spec Accord. Few details of its interior are known at this time, but we expect it to come with a large touchscreen infotainment system present in the Elevate. It will come with many of the same features as this mid-size SUV. For power, the 2024 Honda Amaze will use the same 1.2L, 4-cylinder petrol engine as before that produces 89bhp and 110Nm of torque. Both manual and CVT automatic gearboxes will be offered.
Honda Elevate EV
The Honda Elevate EV will come under the brand’s new ACE (Asian Compact Electric) project by 2026. Codenamed DG9D, this electric SUV will compete with the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV and Maruti Suzuki eVX. Honda will start repurposing its Tapukara facility in Rajasthan to produce the Elevate EV by the end of this year. Not much information is available about this product yet, although it is likely to have some EV specific design changes inside and out.
Honda Subcompact SUV
Honda is preparing to enter the highly competitive subcompact SUV segment with a new model. No information is available about its features and specifications yet. The new Honda subcompact SUV can be offered with the same 1.2-litre petrol engine used in the Amaze. This engine can be improved with hybrid technology. Once launched, it will compete with the Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Maruti Brezza, Mahindra 3XO and other cars in the segment.
