Rahul Gandhi on Smriti Irani: Smriti Irani defeated Rahul Gandhi from Amethi seat in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. In the last five years, Smriti had targeted Rahul on many occasions.
BJP On Rahul Gandhi: Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Friday (July 12) said that abusive language should not be used against former Union Minister Smriti Irani. Rahul appealed not to do so for other leaders. He said that there are wins and losses in democracy. However, BJP got angry at this statement of Rahul and taunting ‘child intelligence’, said that Smriti had forced the Congress leader to leave Amethi.
In fact, Smriti Irani recently vacated her government residence in Delhi. After this, many people made taunting comments and posts against her on social media. Smriti Irani lost the Amethi seat in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections, after which she has vacated her official residence. The BJP leader and former Union Minister was defeated by Congress’s Kishori Lal Sharma. Even after the defeat in the Lok Sabha elections, Smriti Irani was heavily taunted.
What did Rahul Gandhi say about Smriti Irani?
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said that abusive language should not be used against Smriti Irani or any other leader. In a post on the social media platform X, he said, “There are wins and losses in life. I urge everyone to avoid using abusive language and misbehaving with Smriti Irani or any other leader.” He said, “Degrading and insulting people is a sign of weakness, not strength.”
BJP hits back at Rahul Gandhi
At the same time, BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya hit back at Rahul Gandhi and accused him of giving a deceptive message after inciting Congress leaders like a ‘pack of wolves’.
“This is the most deceptive message ever. Congress leaders were unleashed like a pack of wolves on the woman who defeated him (Rahul) in Amethi and shattered his ego. The fact cannot be denied that Smriti Irani forced ‘Balak Buddhi’ to leave Amethi,” Malviya said in a post.
