Shops Name On Kanwar Route: The controversy over the government order to write the name of the correct owner outside all the shops on the route during the Kanwar Yatra in Uttar Pradesh does not seem to stop. BJP’s three allies JDU, RLD and LJP have objected to this decision of the Yogi government in UP.
CM Yogi Adityanath: The controversy over the UP government’s decision to correctly mention the name of the shops and shopkeepers along the entire route during the holy Kanwar Yatra of Shiva devotees in the month of Sawan is increasing. Earlier, BJP’s opponents protested fiercely only on the order of Muzaffarnagar Police. After this, the Yogi government ordered to implement this decision in the whole of Uttar Pradesh. Now the leaders of BJP’s allies have started objecting.
Three allies of BJP raised questions on the decision
All the allies of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) led by BJP, Janata Dal United (JDU), Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) LJPR and Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) have opposed this decision of the UP government. Trilok Tyagi, general secretary of RLD, which is influential in Western Uttar Pradesh, the area with the longest route of Kanwar Yatra, said in this regard that there should be no religion and caste in politics.
This is not a proper decision, RLD leaders opened front
Trilok Tyagi said that this is not a proper decision. The tradition of writing the name of the owner outside the shops is wrong. It is the will of the public to buy goods from wherever they want. Referring to alcohol, he asked the UP government whether religion is not corrupted by drinking alcohol? Is religion corrupted only by meat? RLD’s Uttar Pradesh president Ramashish Rai also opposed the order. He said that the administration’s order asking shopkeepers to write their name and religion on the shop is an order promoting caste and sect.
Decision contrary to ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas’ – KC Tyagi
Similarly, JDU general secretary and spokesperson KC Tyagi said that in Sawan, a bigger Kanwar Yatra than Uttar Pradesh takes place in Bihar. No such order has been given there. When PM Modi says something, everyone should obey him. He described the recent orders and rules of the UP government as against PM Modi’s ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas’ slogan. KC Tyagi also requested the Yogi government to reconsider.
No support for division in the name of caste or religion – Chirag
After this, Union Minister and BJP ally LJP-Ram Vilas chief Chirag Paswan objected to the UP government’s decision. He said that he does not support the order of Muzaffarnagar Police to reveal the names of shops and shopkeepers. Chirag Paswan said that whenever there is any division in the name of caste or religion, I do not support it at all. Chirag said that there are only two categories of people in the society, rich and poor.
Congress leader Imran Masood cited service to Kanwariyas
Earlier, opposition parties had protested against this order of the Uttar Pradesh government. Congress leader Imran Masood also gave the example of service provided by Muslims in Kanwar Yatra camps in Sawan. He said that Muslim artisans make the dress and hosiery of Kanwar pilgrims. In Meerut, Muslims decorate Kanwars. There is no use in talking about hatred. Kanwariyas will not be affected by this. We have to live with love and affection among ourselves.
Angry Owaisi compared the government order to Hitler
Earlier, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi expressed displeasure and linked this order to Hitler. He said that this order is an attempt to target Muslim shopkeepers, so that no Hindu devotee buys anything from a Muslim shop even by mistake. Owaisi said that Jewish businesses were boycotted in Hitler’s Germany in the same way. Similarly, Samajwadi Party leaders had also expressed their anger.
Decision to maintain the purity of faith of Kanwar pilgrims
In its order on Friday, the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister’s Office had asked to put ‘nameplates’ on food shops on the Kanwar Yatra route across the state and write the name and identity of the owner and operator on the shops. According to the CMO, this decision has been taken to maintain the purity of faith of Kanwar pilgrims. Along with this, action was also said to be taken against those selling products with Halal certification. However, later there was also a discussion about making this order optional.
