After the death of 3 UPSC students in Delhi’s Rao IAS Coaching, questions are being raised on the silence of teacher Vikas Divyakirti. Amidst being trolled on social media, Divyakirti has now responded to these allegations.
3 UPSC students died due to waterlogging in the basement of Rao IAS Coaching Center in Old Rajinder Nagar, Delhi due to heavy rains. UPSC students are continuously protesting over the death of their colleagues. Not only this, questions are also being raised on the silence of famous teachers Dr. Vikas Divyakirti and Awadh Ojha on this incident. After being trolled on social media, now Vikas Divyakirti has given his answer on this incident.
In an interview given to news agency ANI, famous teacher Dr. Vikas Divyakirti was asked who is responsible for the death of these children. On this Divyakirti said, I avoid putting the entire blame on one person. Like social media is putting it on me. If you want to put it on someone, you can do so. But I will not do so.
Lack of coordination among agencies- Divyakirti
He said, whose fault is it? I think one of the shortcomings is that there is lack of coordination among different laws and different agencies. Everyone’s intentions are right. If there was coordination, this incident would not have happened.
Divyakirti said, a proposal came in the meeting today, on which LG sahab immediately said yes. We said that you should form such a committee where we all present our views, after that whatever order you give, whatever rules you make. We will start following it in 10-15 days. The coaching center which does not follow it, close it.
What kind of water is filled in the basement?
Vikas Divyakirti said, if the responsibility of this incident has to be decided, then in my opinion the first problem is lack of coordination. Secondly, the problem of corruption is definitely there. If you watch the video of that day, I am surprised to see that the road is filled with water. The level of the basement is exactly equal to the level of the road. There is a great danger that if the water gushes out, the basement will get filled up.
He told, meanwhile a car passed by, I came to know that a panel was placed there to prevent the water from entering inside. The children were sitting in the library. As soon as the jeep passed by fast, the water gushes out and the panel broke and the water went inside. Firstly, the door got closed because it was biometric. Second, the water was coming down and the children had come out. Then the exhaust fan also broke due to the flow of water. Therefore, the water came inside even faster.
It took only 50 seconds to 1 minute for the water to go from waist-deep to above the head. LG sahab told in the meeting that there are sewer lines which got covered by encroachment in that area. Someone must have been involved in the encroachment.
