Maharashtra Latest News: Maharashtra Navnirman Sena workers on Tuesday vandalized the car of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MLC Amol Mitkari in Akola. In fact, Amol Mitkari had criticized MNS chief Raj Thackeray for targeting Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar over the recent waterlogging in Pune. Mumbai Police has registered an FIR under various sections against 13 MNS workers and officials, including the president of the women’s wing of Akola district. Mitkari, a spokesperson of NCP chief Ajit Pawar’s party, claimed that 30 to 40 MNS workers vandalised his car near a government guest house in Akola city over his recent remarks against Raj Thackeray.
Let us tell you that last week, Raj Thackeray had criticised Ajit Pawar after water released from a dam amid heavy rains caused floods in some areas of Pune. After this, Mitkari, while hitting back at the MNS chief, had said that the most unsuccessful person in Maharashtra politics should not comment on the work of Ajit Pawar, MLA from Baramati in Pune district.
Many MNS workers had gathered at the Government Rest House in Akola on Tuesday. Where a press conference was organized by the Raj Thackeray-led party at around 2:30 pm. The police officer said that during the same time, seeing Mitkari’s car in the area, MNS workers vandalised the car. Raj Thackeray had supported the tripartite Mahayuti alliance of Shiv Sena, BJP and Ajit Pawar-led NCP led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde in the recent Lok Sabha elections.
One of the accused died of a heart attack
Sandeep Deshpande said that a few hours after the incident, MNS worker Jai Malokar, whose name is in the FIR, was admitted to a government hospital in Akola complaining of chest pain, where Malokar’s ECG (electrocardiogram) report showed that he had suffered a major heart attack. He was then taken to the ICU for angiography and further treatment, but he died before the treatment could begin.
Demand for action against Raj Thackeray as well
Angry over the vandalism of Amol Mitkari’s car, the NCP has demanded action against Raj Thackeray. NCP spokesperson Umesh Patil said in Mumbai that Raj Thackeray should face legal action for this attack because he supports the behavior of his party workers. The state Home Minister should order the police to file a complaint against Thackeray. An MLC was attacked today. If no proper action is taken against him, MNS workers will attack the Home Minister or the Chief Minister in the coming days.
Umesh Patil took a dig at Raj Thackeray and said that he is a leader with good TRP but always fails to win seats for his party in elections. The NCP spokesperson said that if MNS has a problem with Mitkari’s statement, then they are free to condemn him and file a complaint with the police.
