UP By Polls 2024: Preparations are underway for by-elections on 10 seats in Uttar Pradesh. Meanwhile, a meeting has taken place between RLD chief Jayant Chaudhary and CM Yogi.
UP By Elections 2024: Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) chief Jayant Chaudhary said on Thursday that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s ‘vision’ for the development of Uttar Pradesh is ‘very good’ and ‘we are working together.’ After meeting Adityanath at his residence on Thursday evening, Chaudhary said, ‘Baba (Yogi Adityanath) has a very good vision for the development of Uttar Pradesh and we are working together.’
Regarding this meeting, Adityanath wrote in a post on ‘X’, ”Today, I had a courtesy meeting with the Hon’ble Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) and RLD National President Shri Jayant Chaudhary ji and the Hon’ble public representatives who accompanied him at the government residence in Lucknow.” According to official sources, this meeting lasted for more than an hour.
Later Chaudhary told reporters, ‘The meeting was not long. Time was insufficient, discussions took place.’ When asked about the upcoming by-elections in UP, the Union Minister of State said, ‘We do not only talk about elections. We discussed policies. The Chief Minister shared his broad vision for the development of UP. We are all working to make it a reality and working together.’
Chaudhary refused to comment on the seat sharing. By-elections are to be held on 10 assembly seats in UP. However, the election schedule has not been announced yet. By-elections are to be held on 10 assembly seats in the state, including Karhal and Milkipur. Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav from Karal seat of Mainpuri district and Avdhesh Prasad from Milkipur seat of Ayodhya district resigned after being elected to the Lok Sabha.

CM Yogi Adityanath also posted regarding the meeting. He wrote- Today, I had a courtesy meeting with the Honorable Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) and RLD National President Jayant Chaudhary and the honorable public representatives who accompanied him at the government residence in Lucknow.
