During this period, an average of 171 rail accidents occurred every year. At the same time, 678 rail accidents occurred during the years 2014-24. That is, an average of 68 rail accidents every year. According to the Railway Minister, if we look at the data of the last few years, there has been a decrease in accidents per million train kilometers. At the same time, if we look at the data of the last five years, according to the Union Minister, 9 rail accidents occurred in the last 5 years.
What steps did the Railways take for safety?
