Bravery of Maharana Pratap
Maharana Pratap was born on 9 May 1540 in Mewar, Rajasthan. Born in the Rajput royal family, Pratap was the eldest son of Udai Singh II and Maharani Jayavanta Bai. He was a great warrior and adept in war strategy skills. Maharana Pratap had three younger brothers and two half-sisters. Even today Maharana Pratap is remembered in the pages of history because of his bravery.
Battle of haldighati
Let us tell you that the battle of Haldighati was fought on 18 June 1576 between the army of Rana Maharana Pratap of Mewar and the forces of Mughal Emperor Akbar under the leadership of Maharaja Mansingh I of Amer (Jaipur). It is noteworthy that Haldighati is a region of the Aravalli mountain range, which connects Rajsamand and Pali districts in Rajasthan. According to historians, Mughal ruler Akbar wanted to gain control over Rajput areas and expand his territory. For this reason, Mughal ruler Akbar wanted to conquer Mewar.
At the time of the war, Maharana Pratap had fought against Akbar’s huge army of 85 thousand soldiers for many years with the strength of his 20 thousand soldiers and limited resources. It is said that this war lasted for about 4 hours and Maharana Pratap’s strategy was successful. Brave Maharana Pratap had fought countless battles against the encroachments of the Mughals. He had defeated the Mughal ruler Akbar thrice in the wars of 1577, 1578 and 1579.
Did not accept defeat in front of Mughals
According to historians, Maharana Pratap ate bread made of grass in the forest and definitely spent the night sleeping on the ground. But he never accepted defeat in front of Akbar. Due to Pratap’s successful strategy, the Mughals never won against him. According to historians, Akbar was impressed by the bravery of Maharana Pratap, that is why Akbar’s eyes were moist at the time of Maharana Pratap’s death.
