Presidential Salary in India
Initially, the President’s salary ranged up to 1.5 lakh rupees per month. However, several governmental positions commanded higher salaries than the President’s. To address this, Arun Jaitley, India’s former Finance Minister, increased the President’s salary from 1.5 lakh to 5 lakh rupees in the budget.
Later in 2017, the President’s salary was revised to an untaxed 5 lakh rupees. Moreover, the President is entitled to various amenities such as residence, security, medical facilities, transportation, and communication services provided by the government.
Additionally, individuals contributing to the President’s initiatives receive separate budget allocations that can be utilized for their welfare.
