Derek O’Brien News: Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar praised the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in the House. Many parties including Congress have registered their objection to this. After the praise made by the Chairman, Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Derek O’Brien claimed that out of 10 ministers in the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, 7 ministers come from RSS. He said the same thing about the Chief Ministers of BJP ruled states.
Derek O’Brien said on Thursday (August 1) that Prime Minister Modi is trying to surpass MS Golwalkar, the second Sarsanghchalak of the Hindutva organization. The TMC leader shared one of his recent articles on X. He said in a post on X, “Modi is trying to surpass RSS’s Golwalkar.” He also shared a post by Congress leader Jairam Ramesh, in which he has also criticized the RSS.
Contracts to run Sainik schools given to RSS supporters: Derek O’Brien
In an article shared on his personal blog, O’Brien said that seven out of 10 ministers in Prime Minister Modi’s government come from the Sangh Parivar, four out of 10 governors are former pracharaks and volunteers of RSS and its affiliate organizations, and in eight out of 12 BJP-ruled states, the Chief Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers are volunteers. He also said that six out of 10 contracts to run Sainik schools have been given to RSS supporters or affiliated organizations.
RSS banned thrice: Derek O’Brien
O’Brien said the RSS kept itself away from India’s freedom struggle and when Mahatma Gandhi launched the Dandi March or Salt Satyagraha in the 1930s, RSS founder KB Hedgewar declared that the organisation would not participate in it. He also said the RSS was banned thrice by the Indian government after independence.
