Shimla-Manali Cloudburst: According to DC Anupam, after the information of cloudburst in Shimla (Jhakri Samej Khad of Rampur area), members of the rescue team have reached the spot for relief work.
Shimla-Manali Cloudburst News: Cloudburst has caused havoc in Shimla, Mandi and Kullu of Himachal Pradesh. So far 30 people are reported missing. There is a report of cloudburst near the hydro project in Shimla (Rampur Jhakri Samej Khad) early Thursday morning. The District Disaster Management Authority has confirmed this. After the information of cloudburst, Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap and Superintendent of Police Sanjeev Gandhi have left for the spot.
Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap said that as soon as the information of the incident was received, teams of DSRF, police force and rescue team have been dispatched to the spot. He said that 19 people are reported missing from the area affected by the cloudburst. After this incident, there is an atmosphere of panic among the people of the area. The district administration has asked people to remain alert in view of the possibility of heavy rain.
According to DC Anupam Kashyap, due to the closure of roads at many places after heavy rains, the rescue team is trying to reach the spot by walking two kilometers with equipment.
The officers and members of the rescue team have been asked to provide all possible help to the people affected by the cloudburst incident.
Houses, bridges and JCB machines washed away in the debris
Due to rain last night in Jhakri of Shimla Raipur, the water level in Ghanavi and Samej ravines increased considerably. On investigating the flood caused by cloudburst in Ghanavi, it was found that 5 houses, 2 foot bridges, school building, hospital, power project rest house, a JCB machine and three small vehicles were washed away with the debris due to cloudburst. During the cloudburst, debris entered some houses.
Apart from this, 10 to 12 more people are feared missing. Administration people have reached the spot. NDRF and local police teams and local people are engaged in rescue work.
Jiori to Ghanvi road closed
The road from Jhakri to Kinnaur on National Highway 5 is open for traffic. Traffic is closed on the Jiori to Ghanvi road. Jhakri to Samej road has been damaged near Samej village. Jhakri to Sarpara road is closed due to flood in Samej ravine. Apart from this, other roads in the area are open for traffic.

One dead due to cloudburst in Mandi
According to news agency ANI, cloudburst has also occurred in Thaltukhod of Padhar subdivision of Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh. One body has been recovered from there, while 11 people are missing. NDRF-SDRF teams have been dispatched to the spot. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for heavy rain. Many houses are also reported to be damaged. According to Mandi DC Apurv Devgan, the district administration and NDRF teams have been dispatched to the spot.
Damage to power project in Kullu
There is news of damage to the power project due to cloudburst in Malana, Kullu. There is also news of many vehicles being washed away in this incident.
