Upcoming Cars in India: Demand for SUVs in India is at an all-time high, which is why the passenger vehicle (PV) industry is registering record dispatches to dealers. However, there is one segment which is witnessing a steady decline, which is the small car/hatchback segment. Despite this, the industry expects a surge in sales of small cars in the next 2-3 years. At least five new small family cars are going to be launched this year. Let us know about these upcoming models.
New Generation Maruti Swift/Dezire
The new generation Maruti Swift is scheduled to be launched on May 9, while the new Dezire is expected to arrive during the festive season of 2024. There will be major changes inside and outside in both models. These will include Suzuki’s new 1.2L, 3-cylinder Z-series petrol engine. This engine with mild hybrid technology gives maximum power of 81.6PS and torque of 112Nm. Its fuel efficiency is 25.72kmpl. 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox will be provided for transmission. Apart from this, many new features will also be available in these compared to the existing models.
Tata Altroz Racer/Altroz Facelift
Tata Altroz premium hatchback lineup will soon hit the market in Racer Edition. This sportier version of the hatchback has been seen in two different dual-tone shades. It will get twin racing stripes on the bonnet and roof, a raised front grille, “Racer” badging on the front fender and newly designed 16-inch alloy wheels. On the interior, the Altroz Racer may get new leatherette upholstery with contrast stitching and embossed “Racer” logo on the seats. Tata Altroz Racer will get a 1.2L, 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine, which will generate an output of 120bhp and 170Nm. It will come with a 6-speed manual gearbox and front-wheel-drive (FWD) setup. Apart from this, Altroz hatchback will also get a facelift update in 2024. Some new advanced features will be included in it. However, its engine setup will be kept similar to the existing model.

The Japanese automaker’s sub-compact SUV Nissan Magnite is going to get its first mid-life update this year.
