Yamaha Motor India has unveiled the new Aerox S variant with keyless ignition and additional features. The ex-showroom price for this latest variant is set at Rs. 150,000, making it Rs. 3,300 more expensive than the standard variant. It is available for purchase in two color schemes: silver and racing blue.
How Smart Key Works
The smart key allows easy scooter identification with just a press of a button. It triggers the illuminated indicator and emits a special sound. Unlike traditional slots, the knob can be easily adjusted for various functions, whether it’s starting/stopping the scooter or opening the fuel cap.
2021 Yamaha Aerox Specifications
The new Yamaha Aerox S variant comes equipped with an immobilizer feature, ensuring that the vehicle automatically locks itself when out of the smart key’s range. No other changes have been made. The scooter features LED lighting, charging socket, start-stop technology, Bluetooth connectivity, and a digital instrument panel. It boasts a 14-inch front wheel and rear wheel with a 140-section wide rear tire. The Aerox S offers a 25-liter under-seat storage space and weighs 126 kilograms.
Engine and Gearbox
Similar to the regular variant, the new Yamaha Aerox S is powered by a 155cc, single-cylinder VVA engine, producing a maximum power of 15bhp at 8,000rpm and a torque of 13.9Nm at 6,500rpm.
