Announced after the meeting of BJP MLAs, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said that Mohan Charan Majhi (52) has been unanimously elected as the leader of the legislative party. At the same time, KV Singh Deo and Pravati Parida have been made Deputy Chief Ministers.

Along with the newly elected Chief Minister of Odisha Mohan Charan Majhi, KV Singh Deo and Pravati Parida will also take oath as Deputy Chief Ministers at Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday. KV Singh Deo defeated BJD’s Saroj Kumar Mehar from Patnagarh by 1357 votes, while Pravati Parida defeated BJD leader Dilip Kumar Nayak from Nimapara by 4588 votes.
Know who is Pravati Parida
Pravati Parida was born in 1967. She has won from Puri’s Nimapara assembly seat. She is a social worker. In 1995, she obtained an LLB degree from Utkal University. Apart from this, she obtained an MA degree in Public Administration from the same university in 2005. She has also worked as a lawyer in the Odisha High Court for some time. She was married to former government employee Shyam Sundar Nayak.
Pravati Parida has become an MLA for the first time from Nimapara seat. This is the fourth time she has contested from Nimapara seat. Earlier, he had to face defeat against BJD’s Samir Ranjan Dash in 2014 and 2019. He contested from Nimapara in 2009 but got only 4.52 percent votes.
