was born on 13 November 1780 in Gujranwala, Punjab. Gujranwala is now in Pakistan. When he was just 10 years old, he participated in his first war. He took over the throne at the age of just 12 and conquered Lahore at the age of 18. During his reign of 40 years, he did not allow the British to even wander around his empire.

Coronation took place at the age of 20

After the coronation, he annexed Amritsar to his empire in 1802 and in 1807 he captured Kasur by defeating Afghan ruler Qutubuddin. He captured Multan in 1818 and Kashmir in 1819. However, Maharaja Ranjit Singh died on 27 June 1839. It is said that the decline of the Sikh Empire started after this.
