Udaipur Violence: Communal tension increased after a 10th class student stabbed a school student in a government school in Udaipur, Rajasthan on Friday (August 16). After the incident, the crowd set cars on fire and pelted stones. In view of the situation, the internet has been shut down in Udaipur and nearby areas from 10 pm tonight for the next 24 hours.

According to the police, the reason behind the stabbing incident in the government school located at Bhatiani Chohatta is not immediately known. Police said that the victim has been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the district hospital and his condition is stable.

Crowd pelted stones, set cars on fire

Police said that members of some Hindu organizations gathered in Madhuban area of ​​the city to protest against this incident. Police said that the crowd pelted stones and set three-four cars on fire. In view of the situation, Section 144 has been imposed in the city.

Markets closed

On Friday evening, as tension increased, markets were closed in Bapu Bazaar, Hathipol, Ghantaghar, Chetak Circle and surrounding areas. People of Hindu organizations closed shops in the markets. Some violent elements also pelted stones at a shopping mall, in which the glass doors of the shops were damaged.

Police force deployed

At the same time, hundreds of people gathered outside the government hospital and the police dispersed the crowd. Udaipur Superintendent of Police Yogesh Goyal said that additional policemen have been deployed in the area to maintain law and order. He said that the accused has been arrested.

Police monitoring every activity

Another police officer said that police force is deployed in almost all areas of the city and all police officers are monitoring every activity at the ground level.

Divisional Commissioner Rajendra Bhatt, District Magistrate Arvind Poswal, SP Yogesh Goyal, Rajya Sabha member Chunnilal Garasiya, Lok Sabha MP Mannalal Rawat, MLA Tarachand Jain, Phool Singh Meena and other public representatives held a meeting regarding the situation.
